Pete Carroll indicated Tuesday that the Seahawks may have to replace other assistants on their staff in addition to defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, who was just announced as Atlanta’s head coach.
One of those assistants is reportedly Marquand Manuel. According to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, Manuel is following Quinn to Atlanta to become the Falcons’ secondary coach and senior defensive consultant. Manuel spent the past three seasons on Seattle’s coaching staff, the last two as a defensive assistant.
Carroll mentioned the possibility of having to retool part of the coaching staff when he joined “Brock and Salk” on 710 ESPN Seattle. His wording – “there’s some other guys on our staff that are being requested to talk to and all that” – suggests that Manuel may not be the only one who has drawn interest elsewhere.
