In what should surprise no one at all, Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin has reportedly been fined for his touchdown celebration in the Super Bowl.

According to Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports, Baldwin was docked the minimum $11,025 for what the league deemed to be an obscene gesture that he made following his 3-yard touchdown catch in the third quarter. Baldwin squatted over the ball and pretended to pull his pants down in an apparent simulation of defecation, drawing a 15-yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Asked to explain the celebration after the game, Baldwin said: “That’s between me and the guy it was directed at.”

On Tuesday, as the Seahawks cleared out their lockers at team headquarters, Baldwin told reporters he had no regrets about the celebration.

“No,” Baldwin said, via John Boyle of the Everett Herald. “I was just out there having fun playing the game of football. There’s no explanation. You play this game for so long, you go out there and you have fun. I can get criticized for it, that’s fine, everybody has their opinion, but in the moment I was just having fun. My teammates know that.

“Ultimately the only people I have to apologize to are my teammates and coaches, if that was the case, but my teammates and coaches, they know. They didn’t say anything. That’s not even an issue. We lost the game, there are so many other things to be concerned with that something stupid like that.”
