The top two picks in the NFL Draft were quarterbacks, only the second time in 15 years that has happened.
A pair of running backs were chosen in the first round, too, which was two more than were chosen in the first round of the previous two drafts combined.

And for the third successive year, the Seahawks finished the first round not having picked a single player.
Here are some other notable numbers from Thursday’s first round of the NFL Draft:
12 – The pick used by the Browns to selection Washington nose tackle Danny Shelton. It’s the highest a Washington defensive player was drafted since Steve Emtman was chosen No. 1 overall in 1992.
10 – The slot where St. Louis chose Todd Gurley, Georgia running back. He’s only the second running back in the past five drafts to be chosen in the top 10, joining Trent Richardson, who was picked No. 3 overall by Cleveland in 2012.
9 – Players drafted from the Pac-12 in the first round, tied with the ACC for most from any conference and two more than the vaunted SEC. Only three Pac-12 players were chosen in the first round in 2014.
6 – Wide receivers chosen in the first round, the most players picked from that position in the first round since 2009.
3 – Washington players chosen in the first round of the draft, most ever for the school in one round. Unfortunately, the team somehow suffered twice that many losses last season.
2 – Draft-day trades in the first-round draft order, one between the 49ers and Chargers and the other between the Lions and Broncos.
