The Seahawks are on the board in free agency.

Why have the Seahawks been so quiet at the start of free agency?

B.J. Finney, who has been a backup offensive lineman with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the past four years, has agreed to a two-year deal with the Seahawks, according to NFL insider Adam Caplan.

Finney, 28, was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2015 by the Steelers after a college career with Kansas State. He didn’t appear in a game until 2016, but played well enough to be re-signed on a one-year deal worth just under $3.1 million for 2019. He has appeared in 59 games over the past four seasons, including all 16 in each of the past two seasons. He has 13 career starts, with no more than four in any one season.

According to ESPN’s Brady Henderson, Finney has seen the majority of his NFL snaps at left guard (427), followed by center (381) and right guard (139).

The Seahawks have reportedly lost offensive lineman George Fant to the Jets in free agency, and right tackle Germain Ifedi and left guard Mike Iupati are both free agents. Additionally, starting center Justin Britt is coming back from a torn ACL.
