If it felt like the whole City of Seattle simultaneously screamed and sighed with relief when Vikings kicker Blair Walsh missed the likely game-ending field goal against Seattle on Sunday — that’s because it nearly was.
According to ESPN Sports Business Reporter Darren Rovell, an incredible 87 percent of TVs on in Seattle during Viking-Seahawks matchup were tuned into that game.

NBC Sports reports the cumulative rating for wild card weekend was up from last year’s games, with the Seahawks-Vikings receiving a 22.5 overnight rating on NBC on Sunday early afternoon, up from an 18.0 overnight rating on CBS for Bengals-Colts on Sunday afternoon last year.
Apparently any concerns about the game’s violence or the movie “Concussion” hurting the NFL brand have not been realized.
