The Mariners have extended spring training invitations to 21 non-roster players, and unlike recent past years, more names should be familiar than not. Of the 21 players, all but two were with the organization in 2019.

Headlining the group is a quartet of top 100 prospects: Julio Rodriguez, ranked 8th on Baseball America’s most recent list, Jarred Kelenic (11th), Evan White (54th) and Logan Gilbert (59th).
“This is the youngest, most intriguing group of non-roster invitees that we’ve had in many years,” Mariners general manager Jerry Dipoto said in the press release. “We are all energized by the prospect of seeing so much of our future on display this spring in Peoria.”
The invitees include 11 pitchers, four catchers, three infielders and three outfielders. The new additions are a pair of catchers who come over from the Cardinals organization, Joe Hudson who signed a minor league contract this winter and Brian O’Keefe who the Mariners drafted in the minor league portion of the Rule 5 Draft.
The Mariners Spring Training roster is currently at 61 but additions can be made at any time.
Pitchers and catchers report Feb. 12.
