Wyman: Breaking down Seahawks’ defensive struggles with the Rams

The Seahawks defense struggled against the Los Angeles Rams, mostly in the first half, to stop many of their passing plays. The result was the Seahawks fell behind 21-3 at halftime and lost 28-12.
Gallant: Are the Seahawks’ problems worse than their competition in NFC?
Two players in particular, tight end Tyler Higbee and receiver Robert Woods, constantly beat Seattle’s coverage for big gains. Higbee finished with 116 yards and Woods had 98 yards and caught a touchdown.
For Woods, he did a lot of his damage on shallow crossing routes over the middle. One of those plays was the subject of Football 101 with 710 ESPN Seattle’s Dave Wyman of Bob, Dave and Moore.
Wyman, a former NFL linebacker, shows the concept that the Rams ran and how the Seahawks might have been able to stop the play from getting 19 yards.
Wyman later shows how a similar play that the Rams ran in last year’s Super Bowl was stopped by the New England Patriots.
