Huard’s Chalk Talk: Tyler Lockett’s touchdown shows how Russell Wilson trusts Seahawks receivers

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll pointed to Tyler Lockett’s 27-yard touchdown catch on Sunday against Cleveland as indicative of how well quarterback Russell Wilson and his wide receivers are connecting.

“Right now, there’s such a great understanding and a trust,” Carroll told “Brock and Salk” on Monday. “He knows how to throw the ball to Jermaine (Kearse) and he knows how to throw the ball to Doug (Baldwin) and he’s got that feel for these guys because we’ve been together for such a long time.”

And that also includes the rookie Lockett, who was on the receiving end of Wilson’s 19th touchdown pass over the past five games. No quarterback in NFL history has thrown more over the same amount of time without being intercepted, which provides some historical context for Wilson’s recent hot streak.
