When the Seahawks’ 2019 NFL schedule was first announced, the team had a stretch of four primetime games in five weeks, with the only break being a Week 11 bye.

O’Neil: Seahawks have a new identity – the team you can’t put away

That’s now changed, as it was announced Tuesday afternoon that Seattle’s Week 12 road matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles will no longer be the primetime Week 12 Sunday night game and instead now is set for a kickoff at 10 a.m.

The Green Bay Packers-San Francisco 49ers game is the new Week 12 Sunday night game. The Packers are 8-2, and with a win over the 8-1 49ers could move into the No. 1 spot in the NFC.

The Seahawks handed the 49ers their first loss of the season 27-24 on Monday Night Football in Week 10 and head into their bye week at 8-2. After that, Seattle will play the Eagles, host the Minnesota Vikings Dec. 2 on Monday Night Football and visit the Los Angeles Rams Dec. 8 on Sunday Night Football.

The Seahawks are now 28-5-1 in primetime games under head coach Pete Carroll, whose first season in Seattle was 2010.

According to the NFL’s website, the league must announce scheduling changes no later than 12 days before gameday. Only Sunday night games can get swapped out of primetime slots, and only Sunday games can get moved to Sunday night. There can be no altering of Thursday or Monday games.

The Seahawks’ Week 14 matchup with the defending NFC champion Rams, like the Eagles game, has a chance to get flexed by the NFL. Week 14’s notable matchup is between the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs, two of the premier teams in the AFC.
