The Seahawks’ Pete Carroll took it in stride when the topic of rival Bruce Arians’ 4-1 record at Seattle’s CenturyLink Field came up. But even though Seattle’s head coach laughed through his responses, you could sense a bit of seriousness behind what he said during Friday’s Pete Carroll Show on KIRO Radio 97.3 FM.

Seahawks’ McDougald will return vs Bucs, Dickson gametime decision

“Yeah, I wouldn’t mind getting this one,” Carroll said with a chuckle.

“This one” would be Sunday’s Seahawks-Buccaneers meeting, which will come from CenturyLink Field and air on 710 ESPN Seattle as well as KIRO FM. It will be the fifth time Carroll and Arians have coached against each other in Seattle, but the first time since Arians, a former NFC West rival with the Arizona Cardinals, became Tampa Bay’s head coach.

Arians called CenturyLink Field “probably my favorite place to play” earlier this week, and has been known to refer to the stadium as “my house.”

Carroll would like to see that change on Sunday.

“He’s pretty proud of it, what he’s done here, so I wouldn’t mind him having to go home, fly across the country without a win this weekend,” Carroll said. “So we’re gonna do the best we can to get that done.”

Carroll was complimentary to Arians as a coach, but also made sure to remind people that it wasn’t like Arians’ Cardinals teams always got the best of the Seahawks.

“He’s a really good coach and he’s got a real style about him, a lot of charisma and all and he’s fun to coach against. You know, we beat him down in their place too a lot so I’d like to kinda put this thing to rest here.”

Listen to The Pete Carroll Show every Friday at 12:30 p.m. on KIRO Radio 97.3 FM.
