The Mariners announced Friday they have sent left-handed relief pitcher Tyler Olson to the Los Angeles Dodgers for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
A Spokane native and Gonzaga alum, the 26-year-old Olson made the jump from Double-A to the Mariners out of spring training and appeared in 11 games for Seattle last season.

Olson had a 1-1 record, 5.40 ERA, 2.10 WHIP and eight strikeouts with the Mariners before hitting the disabled list in early May with a right knee contusion. Following his recovery he was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma, where he spent the rest of 2015, going 3-5 with a 4.47 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 53 strikeouts over 25 games (six starts, 54 1/3 innings).
Olson, who was drafted by the Mariners in the seventh round of the 2013 MLB Draft, was designated for assignment on Wednesday to make room for right-handed pitcher A.J. Schugel on the 40-man roster.
