The radio broadcast of Saturday’s preseason contest between the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Chargers just might be a little more humorous than usual.
Hawks rookie draft class hit hard by injuries in camp
That’s because Joel McHale, the well-known actor and comedian from shows like “Community,” “The Soup” and even Seattle’s own “Almost Live,” will join the voice of the Seahawks, Steve Raible, in the booth for the entire game.
McHale is no stranger to football. In the mid 1990s the Mercer Island High School alum was on the UW Huskies roster as a tight end. Factor in that he is also a lifelong Seahawks fan and it’s a perfect fit.
“I am deeply flattered and thrilled to be alongside of Steve Raible to be calling the Seahawks game on Saturday vs. the Chargers,” McHale told Seahawks.com. “I’m going to tell some jokes, have a really good time, and we are going to win. Here’s a little spoiler, Steve Raible is my real father.”
