It’s a weekend of celebration at T-Mobile Park for Hall of Famer Edgar Martinez.
Friday
On Friday, the first 40,000 fans through the gates will get an Edgar bobblehead featuring his Hall of Fame plaque.
The real thing will also be on display in the park during the games on Friday and Saturday.
If you don’t have tickets, there’s a free viewing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. You’ll have to register here.
Saturday
On Saturday, the first 40,000 fans will receive a replica of Edgar’s Hall of Fame plaque.
A pregame ceremony (6:30 p.m.) will include members of the Mariners Hall of Fame. Special guests are Ken Griffey Jr., Alvin Davis, Dan Wilson and Marilyn Niehaus. Also in attendance will be other local Hall of Famers: Seattle Seahawks legends Steve Largent, Kenny Easley and Walter Jones, former Seattle SuperSonic Jack Sikma, Kasey Keller, former Sounders FC goalkeeper, and Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses.
Sunday
On Sunday, a pregame roundtable (12:20 p.m.) will feature Edgar and other Mariners Hall of Famers Alvin Davis, Ken Griffey Jr., Dan Wilson, Mariners Athletic Trainer Emeritus Rick Griffin, and the Voice of the Mariners Rick Rizzs.
After the roundtable, Edgar and representatives from the ballpark will make a presentation to the Edgar Martinez Endowment for Muscular Dystrophy at Seattle Children’s.
Edgar will then throw out the first pitch.
Fans leaving T-Mobile Park will receive a replica Edgar Martinez Drive South street sign.
During all three games, the Mariners will wear commemorative patches on their jersey sleeves. Game balls and bases will feature a Hall of Fame Weekend logo.
Fans can find souvenir baseballs at Mariners team stores. Authentic memorabilia is offered for action at Auctions.MLB.com.
The Mariners play the Tampa Bay Rays Friday (7:10 p.m.), Saturday (7:10 p.m.), and Sunday (1:10 p.m.).
