The Washington Huskies’ sixth straight bowl appearance will take them to Dallas.

UW has been selected to meet Southern Mississippi in the Heart of Dallas Bowl, set for an 11:20 a.m. kickoff on Dec. 26 at the Cotton Bowl.

The 6-6 Huskies reached bowl eligibility with an impressive 45-10 win in the Apple Cup in their final regular season game. The bowl game will be the second in as many years as Washington’s head coach for Chris Petersen, the sixth straight for the program, and the 36th in UW football history.

Southern Miss is 9-4 and the Conference USA West Division champion. The Golden Eagles come into the Heart of Dallas Bowl on the heels of a 45-28 loss to Western Kentucky in the Conference USA championship game on Saturday.

The Huskies join rival Washington State in playing a bowl game in Texas on the morning after Christmas – WSU will meet Miami in the Sun Bowl in El Paso at 11 a.m.
