In Seattle, the rookie will join a linebacker corps that includes Pro Bowlers Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright, along with Mychal Kendricks, Shaquem Griffin, Barkevious Mingo, Austin Calitro, Jacob Martin, Justin Currie and Emmanuel Ellerbee.
“I’m looking forward to (playing with them),” Barton told reporters Friday. “Those are some great players and I want to learn as much as I can from those guys. That’s a chance for me to pick their brains and learn as much as I can from those kind of guys and become an even better player.”
Barton has experience playing both inside and outside linebacker – he played predominately on the outside as a freshman, though during his senior season he started all 14 games at middle linebacker.
