The Seahawks started the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft on Friday just like they did Thursday’s first round, opting to trade back.
UW’s Byron Murphy taken by Arizona with 1st pick of 2nd round
Seattle was set to make the fifth pick of Round 2 (37th overall), but when they were on the clock they instead made a deal with Carolina.
Here are the trade details:
Seahawks get No. 47 overall in Round 2 (Marquise Blair, S, Utah)
Seahawks get No. 77 overall in Round 3 (traded to New England)
Panthers get No. 37 overall in Round 2
The Seahawks weren’t done, making a rare trade up in the second round to get the No. 64 pick from New England, sending the Patriots a pair of selections they had added through previous deals.
Here are the details on that trade:
Seahawks get No. 64 overall in Round 2 (D.K. Metcalf, WR, Ole Miss)
Patriots get No. 77 overall in Round 3
Patriots get No. 118 overall in Round 4
Seattle made one last trade in the third round, making a deal with Minnesota to move up four spots by swapping late-round picks as well.
Seahawks get No. 88 overall in Round 3 (Cody Barton, LB, Utah)
Seahawks get No. 209 overall in Round 6
Vikings get No. 92 overall in Round 3
Vikings get No. 159 overall in Round 5
