After the Seahawks spent the first two days of free agency reshaping their offense, a familiar face appears to be returning to Seattle’s defense.
710 ESPN Seattle’s Liz Mathews reports the Seahawks have reached a deal with
Brandon Mebane, considered one of the top defensive tackles on the market.
According to ESPN NFL insider John Clayton, Mebane has signed a five-year deal worth $25 million.
Mebane, 26, has started every year since the Seahawks drafted him in the third round in 2007.
The Seahawks have also signed third-round OL John Moffitt from the University of Wisconsin.
Moffitt, 24, is expected to start at right guard for the Seahawks this season. At 6-foot-5, 323 pounds, Moffitt has been described as an “ass-kicker” according to Seahawks general manager John Schneider.
All nine Seahawks draft picks have now been signed after OT James Carpenter agreed to a new deal early Friday morning.
