The Seattle Mariners are going with what may be their customary lineup during the 2019 season for Game 2 against the Boston Red Sox.
Mariners add catcher depth with Tom Murphy in trade with Giants
While Mitch Haniger was in the leadoff spot in Thursday’s home opener as the M’s stacked their lineup with right-handers against Boston southpaw Chris Sale, the lefty-swinging Mallex Smith will see his first action as Seattle’s No. 1 hitter with Boston starting righty Nathan Eovaldi on Friday.
Smith, who missed the Mariners’ first two games of the season while he worked his way back from an arm injury, went 1 for 5 in his Seattle debut Thursday, hitting a triple and scoring a run in a four-run third inning.
It's baaaaaack.

Tim Beckham, the Major League leader with three home runs, will hit sixth again for the M’s.
Did the Mariners get a steal in Tim Beckham, standout of their hot start?
On the mound will be Yusei Kikuchi, who will make his first start at T-Mobile Park.
