The sentencing date for Seahawks linebacker Mychal Kendricks in his insider trading case, originally scheduled for April 4, has been postponed.
The news was first reported by SB Nation Seahawks blog Field Gulls, and later confirmed by both ESPN and The Seattle Times.
The postponement further complicates Kendricks’ offseason with Seattle. The Seahawks re-signed Kendricks to a one-year deal earlier this month, but the looming sentencing makes his availability for the 2019 season unclear.
The Seahawks linebacker pleaded guilty to insider trading charges in September 2018. The Cleveland Browns released Kendricks following his guilty plea, after which he was signed by Seattle.
A spokesperson with the United State District Court's Eastern District of Pennsylvania confirms that Mychal Kendricks is no longer scheduled to be sentenced on April 4, as @SeahawksMachine said. It's not clear why, but no new sentencing date has been set, per the spokesperson.
