A week after losing his starting job, Seahawks cornerback Cary Williams is inactive for today’s game against Pittsburgh.
Williams was not on Seattle’s injury report this week, so unless he was hurt over the weekend or during pregame warmups, he is a healthy scratch.
The Seahawks did not announce who will start today’s game at cornerback, but DeShawn Shead is a likely option. He moved outside to replace Williams last week against San Francisco. Marcus Burley slid into the slot. Jeremy Lane was activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list on Saturday and will make his 2015 debut today. He’s an option in the slot as well as on the outside.
Linebacker Bruce Irvin is active, a surprise considering he was listed as doubtful due to the sprained knee he’s been dealing with the last two weeks.
There were no other surprises on Seattle’s list of inactives: wide receiver Paul Richardson, cornerback Tye Smith, running back Marshawn Lynch, linebacker Eric Pinkins, center Drew Nowak and guard/center Kristjan Sokoli.
