Seahawks wide receiver Jermaine Kearse is getting a well-deserved celebration to honor his accomplishments this weekend.
The Super Bowl champ’s hometown of Lakewood, Wash. is throwing a big party on Saturday and presenting Kearse with a key to the city.
“We’re going to be doing something for him that we hope that he appreciates because it’s coming from his hometown; his hometown crew, his hometown school, and his hometown city,” said Brent Champaco, Lakewood’s Communications Manager.
Kearse grew up in Lakewood and played football at Lakes High School before moving on to the University of Washington. The celebration will take place at Harry E. Lang Stadium, “the same field where he made countless plays as a Lancer,” at 1 p.m.
“This is going to be a celebration of how proud we are of him,” said Champaco. “I can’t repeat this enough, we are so proud of him – for the person he’s become on the field and off the field and the representative he’s become of our community.”
