Richard Sherman is gunning for Madden cover
Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman is in the running for the cover of the Madden NFL 15 video game, and he’s calling on fans to push him to the top.
Sherman posted a video of himself in the locker room as a testament to why NFL fans should vote for him.
“You see where I’m at, in the locker room working,” said Sherman. “Vote for me for the cover vote because we always working. We always on top. We always locking stuff down. Vote for me.”
Sherman is up against San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick in round three of the vote. The winner will move on to the finals where he’ll face either Caroline Panthers’ Cam Newton or Indianapolis Colts’ Andrew Luck.
Voting in this round concludes on May 30. The final round of voting will be May 30 to June 6.
Some are wary of the Madden cover spot because of the Madden curse, which suggests a featured player will then be injured or have a bad year.
The only other Seahawks player to make it to the cover was Shaun Alexander, who broke his foot following his appearance.
But Sherman doesn’t seem worried, pushing fans, “Let’s get this one over Kaepernick.”
