Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch stars in a biopic about his rise from the streets of Oakland to a Super Bowl champion.
A preview of the film, “Family First: The Marshawn Lynch Story”, was released Monday to spark some interest in the project.
The film’s director, Mario Bobino, told KIRO Radio that Lynch would portray himself in college and after. His younger brother will play Lynch in high school, and a child actor will play him as a youth. Bobino said Lynch insisted his mother play herself in the film.
In the preview, Lynch is seen in a club, sitting out on the bleachers with his friends, and preparing to face reporters. One of his friends asks if he’s ready for their questions.
“They only can report what I say,” Lynch said. “If I don’t say nothin’, then what are they going to report on?”
The film was expected to be completed by the end of 2014, but the preview indicates there is no release date yet.
