With the KeyArena site under construction to make way for a new Seattle Center arena under the iconic Seattle Coliseum roof, the defending WNBA champion Seattle Storm needed a new home for the 2019 season.
They have two.
The Storm’s main home will be Alaska Airlines Arena on the University of Washington campus, but they will also play five games next season at Everett’s Angel of the Winds Arena. The games in Everett include the first three home contests of the year – the season opener on Saturday, May 25 against the Phoenix Mercury in a rematch of the last season’s semifinal round, Tuesday, June 4 against the Minnesota Lynx, and Friday, June 21 against the Los Angeles Sparks.
The Everett arena will also host a battle between the Storm and the Washington Mystics, who Seattle swept 3-0 in the WNBA Finals in September, on Friday, Aug. 2.
