The Seahawks are heading into their Week 15 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers with a few big names on their injury report, but based on a KIRO Radio interview with head coach Pete Carroll Friday morning, that list may soon be dwindling.

Carroll told KIRO Radio’s Dori Monson that while right guard D.J. Fluker (hamstring) will likely remain out Sunday, wide receiver Doug Baldwin (hip) has a good chance to play.

While linebacker K.J. Wright (knee) won’t return this week, Carroll — for the first time in a few weeks — didn’t rule out a Week 16 return for the Seahawks veteran. Wright’s return is, obviously, dependent on his ability to make it through practice next week.

“We have a few guys (on the injury list), that’s kind of how it goes this late in the season,” Carroll said. “We’re hoping to see some guys pop here when we come to game day. But for the most part we’re OK. Our backup guys that are jumping in have had enough play time. (Guard) Jordan Simmons is a good example. He’s going to be (having) his third game starting, but he’s done a lot of good stuff so we’re not concerned about that spot as much as maybe you would think otherwise. We’d love to get (D.J. Fluker) back but we don’t think he’s going to make it. K.J. (Wright) is not quite ready yet, but he’s going to go for it next week. We’ll see what that means. He’s been practicing this week and got through it and feels great, so there’s a chance for him to return. Doug (Baldwin) practiced late in the week and if everything goes well all the way up to game time he has a good chance to play.”

In addition to Wright, the Seahawks have also officially ruled out running back Rashaad Penny (knee) and safety Maurice Alexander (concussion) for Sunday’s game. Baldwin, defensive tackle Jarran Reed (oblique) and safety Bradley McDougald (knee) have been listed as questionable.
