Twenty Reasons why the Mariners just completed a great road trip:

1- The Mariners finished the trip 5-4 against Texas (best record in the AL), Chicago (tied for the second best record in the AL) and LAA (.500 record and swept the M’s in four games at home last week).

2- The M’s were 4-2 vs the division on the trip.

3- They averaged 7.3 runs a game and outscored their opponents overall 66-52.

4- They homered in each of the last 8 games of the trip- 14 total.

5- The M’s walked 32 times in 9 games (They have quietly moved up to 17th in MLB in BB).

6- The Mariners averaged 10.6 hits a game during the trip.

7- Michael Saunders- Left the trip with a .224 batting average and has come back hitting .277. Hit .487 (19-30) with 2 HRs 7 RBIs 9 R 5 2B 2 BB

8- Tom Wilhelmsen- Dominated-1-0 2 Saves- 6 2/3IP 3H 0R 0BB 7K’s -Threw the single best pitch of the season, buckling Alexi Ramirez to the ground with a wicked curveball.

9- The MLB debut for Stephen Pryor- Very impressive- 4IP 3H 1R 1ER 0BB 4K’s

10- Brendan Ryan’s D. Amazing as usual.

11- Kyle Seager- .343 (12-35) 2HR 10RBIs 8R 52B 3BB

12- Jesus Montero- .333 (12-36) 1HR 5RBIs 5R 22B 2BB

13- Brandon League- 6IP 5H 1R 1ER 1BB 5K’s

14- Dustin Ackley- .281 (9-32) 1HR 4RBIs 8R 32B 7BB

15- John Jaso- .304 (7-23) 1HR 5RBIs 5R 12B 2BB

16- Iwakuma earned a save in a game the M’s won by 13.

17- The offensive outburst has pushed the Mariners to a tie for 11th in baseball in runs scored with 251.

18- The M’s came from behind to win 3 times on the trip.

19- The trip gives the Mariners a 12-12 record against the West. It now also means that Texas is the only team in the division with a losing record against the division.

20- The Mariners scored 33 runs in the 6 June games on the trip which gives them the second most runs scored in baseball during the month.
