The Seahawks are back to .500, bouncing back with a 27-24 win over the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night, just four days after a tough loss to Rams in Los Angeles.

Seahawks win: Wilson closes | Takeaways | Recap | Photos | Stats

As we do after each Seahawks game, we have polled the voices of 710 ESPN Seattle for their initial thoughts on the victory over Green Bay. Here’s a sneak peak of what they’ll have to say on the air Friday.

Tom Wassell of Bob, Groz and Tom

The Packers should have challenged. That second catch by Tyler Lockett on the drive that resulted in the Seahawks’ winning touchdown would have been overturned. I’ll show Mike McCarthy the door.

What a game, though! Defense had a rough night until the second half when – aside from a 57-yard bomb to Davante Adams – the Seahawks kept Aaron Rodgers out of the end zone. Huge stop with 4:20 left, too. That’s what most coaches refer to as “finishing.” Frank Clark (two sacks, one TFL) gets honorable mention in this one.

Did it seem like Green Bay gave up on running back Aaron Jones? That kid can play.

But back to those two plays from Wilson and Lockett. Talk about two clutch players elevating in a tough spot. THAT is what special players do. Inspiring runs from Chris Carson and a little dusting of Rashaad Penny turned this into the type of game the Seahawks want to play. Run the ball, complete a few long passes and make big stops on defense.

Bob Stelton of Bob, Groz and Tom

It didn’t start out well for the Seahawks but they eventually found their rhythm on both sides of the ball. They overcame a fumble from Chris Carson on the first play from scrimmage, Wilson overthrowing a wide open Doug Baldwin in the end zone and picked apart on defense by Aaron Rodgers in the first half. Wilson and the offense found a groove in the fourth quarter while the defense allowed just three points in the entire second half.

The Hawks showed the one thing that they have displayed all season: they’re always up for the fight regardless of how bad things are going. They obviously haven’t always won, but it’s been made clear that there is no quit in this team.

This game was incredibly important in keeping the postseason dream alive. And while it was not the cleanest or most efficient performance of the year, the Seahawks got it done.

Jim Moore of Danny, Dave and Moore

Criticized most of the evening on social media for throws he failed to make, Russell Wilson came through when it counted most. So much for another week of quibbling with the best quarterback in franchise history.

Wilson was fantastic on the game-winning drive, connecting on 4 of 5 passes, including two in a row to Tyler Lockett that covered a total of 52 yards.

And the defense was terrific in the second half, allowing the Packers only three points and forcing a critical three-and-out on the Packers’ last possession. Then the Seahawks flashed a great example of how important it is to have an effective running game, closing it out with a pair of first downs on the ground, preventing Aaron Rodgers a chance to lead the Packers to a game-tying field goal.

All in all, an impressive performance in a loser-out game to remain in playoff contention.
