Update Sunday: Seahawks starting running back Chris Carson, who was listed as questionable on Friday, was on the inactive list for the game with a hip injury. The Seahawks will turn to rookie Rashaad Penny and veterans Mike Davis and C.J. Prosise in Carson’s absence.

The Seahawks will see one of their key offensive starters return this Sunday when they take on the Arizona Cardinals in Glendale.

“Excited to tell you that Doug Baldwin is going to play in this game,” Carroll told reporters Friday afternoon. Baldwin suffered an MCL injury in Seattle’s Week 1 loss to the Denver Broncos and has been sidelined for three weeks. The veteran wide receiver returned to practice for the first time Wednesday and was a full participant by Friday.

“He had a great week,” Carroll continued, “he looked terrific, he’s just raring to go as much as anybody could. So we’re really excited to have him back out there. He’s a big part of our club and means a lot to us. So that’ll be great to see him out there.”

Two Seahawks have already been declared out for Sunday’s game: linebacker K.J. Wright (knee) and defensive end Rasheem Green (ankle). The latter was injured during Seattle’s Week 3 win over the Dallas Cowboys.

Running backs Chris Carson and C.J. Prosise, and defensive end Dion Jordan, will all be gametime decisions.

Seattle’s run game had a slow start to the season in Weeks 1 and 2, but the offense leaned heavily on its running backs Sunday. Carson in particular saw a large workload, finishing the night with 102 yards on 32 carries.

Carroll said Carson “felt something” in practice this week and the team has since let him rest.

“We just took it easy on him,” Carroll said. “He had a bunch of carries last week, as we all know, and warranted a little bit of a break. We’ve just got to make sure he’s OK. We’ll take it all the way to gametime. He’s thinking he’s going, but we’ll just make sure and guarantee it.”

Carson is officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game (as is Jordan, Baldwin, and safety Delano Hill). Fellow running back C.J. Prosise will also be a gametime decision, though is listed as doubtful with an abdominal injury.

Sunday’s Week 4 matchup between the Seahawks and Cardinals will be streamed live on 710 ESPN Seattle. The Seahawks pregame show will begin at 10 a.m., followed by play-by-play at 1:05 p.m.
