The La Verne (Calif.) Police Department announced Tuesday that former Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner will be arraigned Tuesday afternoon on several felony charges, including attempted murder.

He is being held on $10 million bail.

The charges stem from an incident involving Browner that occurred July 8. According to the original NBC L.A. report, Browner allegedly broke into a residence through a locked window and physically harmed and made threats to a victim inside the residence. Browner was arrested and charged with several felonies, including burglary, false imprisonment, and violation of a restraining order.

The attempted murder charge was later reported by TMZ Sports. That report states that the victim is an ex-girlfriend of Browner, and that Browner, “allegedly chased the victim, dragged her and then smothered her in a carpet.”

In a statement, the La Verne Police Department stated that Browner is scheduled to be arraigned at the Pomona Superior Court on charges of attempted murder, robbery, burglary, false imprisonment, and two counts of child endangerment.

A former NFL player, Browner originally signed with the Broncos as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Oregon State in 2005. He ultimately signed with the Seahawks in 2011 and was an original member of Seattle’s famed Legion of Boom secondary. He was also part of the Seahawks’ Super Bowl XLVIII-winning roster in 2013-14.
