Connor Honey, a 17-year-old forward from Edmonton, will be joining the Thunderbirds. Honey was in camp with the Birds before the season and he was playing with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL. In 17 games there he had one goal and six assists. Last season he played for the Edmonton South Side Athletic team in the Alberta Midget Hockey League and had 24 goals and 32 assists in 34 games.
F Mitch Guiel was reassigned.
Here is an interesting blog post from Sept. 7 which claimed that Honey had given a verbal commitment to the University of Denver.
The Birds will get even more help up front with the return of 18-year-old forward Colin Jacobs. Jacobs had missed the first 26 games of the season due to offseason shoulder surgery.
Seattle remains without F Brendan Rouse (hand), and F Branden Troock (broken rib). F Marcel Noebels is playing on the World Juniors in Germany (back after Christmas break).
