If you’ve been suffering from hockey withdrawal your troubles will soon be over. The Seattle Thuderbirds have announced their 2012 training camp schedule.
Camp opens in Thursday, Aug. 23 with two scrimmages. The first scrimmage will start at 9 a.m. and the second will start at 4:30 p.m. There will also be scrimmages, at the same start times, on Friday the 24th and Sunday the 26th.
There will be one scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 25 at 3 p.m. and a full game with regular uniforms and referees on Monday, Aug. 27 at 5:30 p.m.
All the scrimmages will be held at ShoWare Center in Kent and are free to the public to attend. Seattle’s first preseason game will be in Everett against the Portland Winterhawks on Aug. 31 at 3 p.m.
This will be your first chance to take a look at all the new faces in camp with the Thunderbirds as well as this year’s first-round draft pick, Matthew Barzal, who will be playing.
Check back here for camp updates as I will be attending most of the scrimmages and will be posting recaps and interviews each day.
