T-Birds trade Chance Lund to Swift Current
By Andrew Eide
The Seattle Thunderbirds announced this afternoon that they have traded forward Chance Lund to the Swift Current Broncos in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2013 Bantam Draft. This move appears to have been necessary due to Seattle’s crowded 20-year-old situation their preseason roster had.
Lund came to Seattle in 2008 and has appeared in 258 games for the Thunderbirds. The 6-5 Alberta product scored 27 goals in those games, his best season being last year when he scored 15 goals and 32 points.
The move leaves Brandon Glover, Luke Lockhart, Brad Deagle and Brendan Rouse as the remaining 20-year-olds on the roster. The team is only allowed to carry three over-age players during the season so another decision will have to be made.
Tim Pigulski will be posting more reaction to this trade and the T-Birds 20-year-old situation later this evening.
