The Seattle Thunderbirds made two moves during today’s WHL trade deadline. They sent a 2014 fourth round draft pick to Saskatoon for forward Adam Kambeitz. Kambeitz is a 20-year-old who had scored nine goals for the Blades this year. Last year, playing for Red Deer he put up 19 goals in only 45 games.

To make room for Kambeitz the club released forward Brendan Rouse. Rouse had six goals this year, led the team in assists (23) and plus/minus (4). In a press release, the T-Birds anticipated that Rouse would be landing on his feet with the Vancouver Giants. The Giants will visit the ShoWare Center on February 15th.

The T-Birds also picked up 18-year-old Andrew Johnson from the Moose Jaw Warriors. Johnson was a 2nd round pick by the Warriors in the 2009 Bantam draft and in 42 games this year has scored five goals and 15 points. Last year he potted 13 goals for Moose Jaw in 42 games.

Tim Pigulski will be getting the scoop straight from general manger Russ Farwell later this evening, check back to get all the details on the trade deadline action.
