Wednesday Rewind: Ehlo previews ‘Zags-Cougs rivalry game

Eastern Washington will be abuzz tonight as the annual rivalry game between the Gonzaga Bulldogs and Washington State Cougars tips off from Beasley Coliseum in Pullman at 8:00 P.M.

Klay ThompsonThe Cougars lead the all-time series 97-47, but has only won two out of the last 11 meetings.

Gonzaga has struggled to a 4-3 start this season after being ranked as high as 12th in the preseason AP poll. While the Bulldogs’ three losses came against Illinois, Kansas State, and San Diego State, – each ranked in the AP Top 25 with a combined 23-2 record- the ‘Zags are looking to turn it around against the rival Cougars Wednesday night.

FSN college basketball analyst Craig Ehlo says the Bulldogs need to “establish themselves as a defensive team” tonight against an aggressive Cougars’ squad led by junior Klay Thompson (pictured) and junior transfer Faisel Aden.
