Brian Westbrook

Seahawks vs. 49ers: I can’t figure out the best way to go about it. We know that when trying to predict how the Seahawks are going to do, using logic is a waste of time. No, there has got to be some other way. I will call it a modified Costanza method – figure out what you think is going to happen, then choose the opposite.

The Niners are average at home, the Seahawks are below average on the road. No Frank Gore for the Niners, and probably no Mike Williams for the Seahawks. What the Niners do best is stop the run (10th in the league), and what the Seahawks do worse is run the ball (30th in the league). The Seahawks are also terrible against the pass themselves, ranking 30th, while the Niners are in the bottom third in passing offense.

Nope, no good I’m still confused.

Alright I think Brian Westbrook (pictured) still has something in the tank and the Niners should be desperate. They are still playing hard for Mike Singletary and that may be enough to eek out a road win against a mediocre opponent. The return of Colin Cole is big news for the Seahawks, but I think Red Bryant had a lot to do with his success, and without a healthy Mike Williams, I just don’t see it. The Seahawks special teams are solid and always give them a chance.

But, I think the Hawks keep the division intrigue going…
