Seahawks running back Leon Washington has
created many highlight plays this season with his electrifying touchdown
returns on special teams, but no return was more memorable in his mind
than the one he missed by just a yard.
Washington’s punt return against Carolina in Week 13 was seemingly
destined for pay dirt when he pointed his finger toward fans in the Hawks
Nest behind the north end zone. But, Carolina punter Jason
Baker caught up to Washington, swiped at his feet, and downed
Washington a yard away from scoring a touchdown.
Although the Seahawks eventually went on to win the game, that
moment has become engrained in Washington’s mind which he discussed
on Wednesday’s Seahawks Huddle.
The voice of the Seahawks, Steve Raible gave his
take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers heading into Sunday’s game at Raymond
James Stadium.
Seahawks insider Clare Farnsworth joined The
Huddle to talk about the improvement of the run game led by
Marshawn Lynch.
ESPN NFC West blogger Mike Sando discussed why
the 49ers once again benched QB Alex Smith in favor
of Troy Smith heading into Sunday’s big divisional
game against the St. Louis Rams.
Todd Milles of the Tacoma News-Tribune gave his
take on the departure of UW TE Chris Izbicki heading
into their Holiday Bowl matchup against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
