Nobody was more frustrated how tonight’s game between the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles was rescheduled from Sunday than Pennsylvania mayor Edward Rendell.
“We’ve become a nation of wusses,” said Rendell on a local Philadelphia radio show early Tuesday after the game was postponed due to blizzard-like conditions in the area on Sunday (photo above).
“If this was in China, do you think the Chinese would have called off the game?” Rendell continued. “People would have been marching down to the stadium. They would have walked, and they would have been doing calculus on the way down.”
In response to the governor’s comments, Rod Simons (sports anchor for KSTP-TV in Minneapolis) agreed the game should have been played on Sunday regardless of the conditions. Simons went on to discuss why the Vikings seem to be cursed this year after participating in the NFC Championship game last season.
“The Professor” John Clayton analyzed how backup QB Charlie Whitehurst will fare against the St. Louis Rams this Sunday at Qwest Field.
ESPN NFC West blogger Mike Sando gave his take on a transition in San Francisco after the 49ers fired head coach Mike Singletary earlier this week.
