M’s trade for Jack Hanahan

Another day, another deal for the M’s. Today, it’s Oakland third-baseman Jack Hannahan who arrives in exchange for minor league right-hander Justin Souza.
Don’t know much about Souza (go to Prospect Insider for that), but this team needed some infield depth – especially at third base. He isn’t a great hitter, but he can field the position for sure. And he gets on base at a rate far above his batting average, so there is some patience there.
I guess you could look at this as a continution of the Ryan Langerhans deal. You’ve traded away Mike Morse and Souza for Langerhans and Hannahan. I like it!
Now let’s see if they can get back in the win column tonight…
