Trent Dilfer Explains Quarterback Rating System

Matt Hasselbeck was classified as a “Star” in Trent Dilfer’s quarterback rating system; 9th overall. Dilfer joined the show to explain the system and also break down the modern NFL quarterback’s game versus that of the past. Brock especially thought Hasselbeck’s ranking was too low and in response Dilfer said that “in 2004…. I would’ve put him in the superstar category, he was right on the cusp, if they would’ve won the superbowl in 2005 i think he could’ve moved up to that elite.” The list was prompted by Dilfer looking at the improvements at the QB position over the past 20 years. He thinks “its just completely unfair and frankly ignorant to think that the position was as hard to play back then as it is now.”
