Seahawks
If last week was a 10 out of 10 on the “importance scale,” Sunday’s home matchup against the Cardinals has to bw at least an 8. Matt Pittman was at the VMAC yesterday for Matt Hasselbeck’s interview with reporters. Hasselbeck knows the Hawks must play their best in order to win Sunday.
Did you hear Darren Urban from AZCardinals.com yesterday talking about the reputation of Seahawks rookie LB Aaron Curry? Seems like he is already making an impression throughout the league as a violent force. He is becoming infamous for his high-energy demeanor on the field. But as Danny O’Neil writes, Curry definitely has another gear off the field.
For the first time since his rib injury in San Francisco, Matt Hasselbeck is “drug free.â€
We discussed Kyle Williams a lot on the show yesterday, and now Tim Booth has more on the Seahawks new left tackle getting his chance to shine. He is going to be in the spotlight for sure.
Clare Farnsworth talked with Edgerrin James about his imminent shift into the NFL’s top 10 all-time leaders in career rushing yards.
After Owen Schmitt’s now infamous pre-game helmet bashing, Jim Moore is here to convince you the Seahawks fullback is not crazy. If you want to show your support for Schmitt’s head bludgeoning, you can get your own T-shirt to wear on Sunday at Qwest Field.
John Morgan provides his statistical preview of the Hawks game this Sunday against Arizona.
Huskies/Cougars
As big as Sunday’s game is for the Hawks, the Huskies could get a significant step closer to securing a bowl invitation with a win in Tempe on saturday. Andrew Bagnato has a preview . Brandon Huppert came a long way from walking on to the team to earning a scholarship. He then suffered a torn ACL in the USC win. Steve Kelley has the story.
Percy Allen takes the time to point out the Huskies special teams miscues during their miraculous win against Arizona. Allen also reported from Thursday’s practice that Jordan Polk will be out against the Sun Devils on Saturday.
Bud Withers listed the Huskies as one of his surprise teams of the season. Kyle Roger, an 8-year old who died of brain cancer in February, is one of the biggest motivators for Jake Locker .
It’s no secret the Washington St. Cougars have not performed well this season. Vince Grippi offers his reason why. Ted Miller is not ready to give up hope on WSU just yet.
Mariners
SS Carlos Triunfel, one of the Mariners top prospects, recently told Geoff Baker it won’t be long before M’s fans can see him at Safeco.
The Mariners blog “Lookout Landing†highlighted the performances yesterday of Nick Hill and Anthony Varvaro.
