Seahawks
The Seahawks continue to rest and try to get healthy on their bye week. When they get back to the games next week in Dallas, they have a crucial stretch of games at Dallas, against Detroit, and at Arizona. Matt Hasselbeck believes the idea of the season being over is “absolutely ridiculous.â€
One of the biggest keys to being a successful offensive line is consistency and continuity. Danny O’Neil’s story this morning explains how the Hawks offensive line has been anything but. With Kyle Williams losing his job, Gregg Bell takes a look at Damion McIntosh, the 5th starting LT the Seahawks have employed this year. Meanwhile, the Hawks signed G Mike Gibson from the Eagles’ practice squad after releasing Kyle Williams on Tuesday. Kyle Williams has since been re-signed to the Seahawks’ practice squad.
Gregg Knapp was Matt Hasselbeck’s go to receiver at practice yesterday.
John Morgan of Fieldgulls.com assesses the center position for the Seahawks.
Huskies/Cougars
Bob Condotta takes a look at Oregon coming in to Husky Stadium this Saturday. After a rocky start in Boise, the Ducks are looking to crack the top 10 in the BCS standings. Ted Miller believes the Huskies will pull an amazing upset this weekend against the Ducks.
One positive of such a roller coaster season for the Huskies is the character and maturation that develops from so many ups and downs.
Nick Holt tried to take blame for the coverage miscue that cost the Huskies a chance at OT against the Sun Devils, but Tim Booth heard a different story from the players themselves. John McGrath would like to see Steve Sarkisian delegate more of his responsibilities.
With the news today that Sam Bradford will have season ending surgery on his shoulder, Jake Locker moves into the top spot for active quarterbacks who are draft possibilities. ESPN’s Todd McShay has Locker as the top quarterback available now; Mel Kiper Junior still thinks Bradford would go ahead of him, but has Locker #2 ahead of Jimmy Clausen. I spoke to Mel last night, and we’ll play some of his comments on the show today.
Is Locker doing enough to win Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year award? Nick Daschel offers his opinion.
The Huskies ground game with Chris Polk has shown flashes of greatness, but the last two weeks have seen the rushing yard totals dip below average. The Huskies basketball team is attempting to re-ignite their in-state rivalry with Gonzaga, but the Bulldogs will not agree to play the games at Key Arena. The Huskies AD, Scott Woodward, believes the plan to play Gonzaga at Key Arena from 2011-2013 is a “great proposal.â€
Anyone who watches Pac-10 football notices the seemingly endless combination of uniforms the visiting Oregon Ducks seem to have at their disposal (160 to be exact). If you have ever wanted to customize your own Oregon uniforms, here is your chance to “Dress-A-Duck.”
Mariners
Congratulations to the Phillies and their fans on their World Series birth. They are clobbering the ball right now. Larry Stone is hoping a few more Mariners will “pull a Johjima†and opt out of their deals.
