We had two big Seahawks guests on the show today. Both LB David Hawthorne and defensive coordinator Gus Bradley came on to share their thoughts on the current state of the team, where the team will be after the last five games, and more.
Hawthorne described being thrust in to the starting line-up after Lofa Tatupu’s injury as a “learning experience.” When asked about the feeling of laying a big hit on an offensive player, David replied:
“That’s the ultimate goal as a linebacker. You want to make your presence felt in everything you do. You want to play with enough tenacity that people fear you.”
Gus Bradley was chosen by Jim Mora to run the defense this season, and Gus feels the performance against the Rams was a sign of the evolution the group is becoming more active. He also provided insight in to the development of Aaron Curry, and how they are adjusting the game plan to maximize the effectiveness of the rookie linebacker. Bradley went on to discuss what Josh Wilson’s future will be in the NFL, the importance of playing consistently as a defensive unit, and more.
