The rumors were true. The XFL, one of the biggest flops in the history of American professional sports, is coming back.

WWE CEO Vince McMahon announced Thursday that he is giving his failed football league another go, with the new XFL set to begin play in January 2020.

Clayton: Why Seahawks’ coaching changes make sense

Reaction is … mixed.

“I didn’t like it the first time. I don’t know what they’re going to do this time to make it any different,” said Bob Stelton of 710 ESPN Seattle’s Bob, Groz and Tom. “I thought it was a stupid product. It was a bad product to begin with and it played out that way.”

The news led co-host Tom Wassell to posit an interesting question.

“If Seattle was to get an XFL team, how would you feel about that?” asked Tom Wassell.

“Thrilled,” Dave Grosby responded enthusiastically. “I’m in. I’ve had a good experience with leagues like that. I’m a former Oakland Invaders (USFL) season ticket holder.”

Tom took to Twitter to see how Seattle sports fans would feel about having a second professional football team to root for. Vote in the poll here:
