All-Pro safety Earl Thomas is out for Seattle’s matchup against Washington this Sunday, while linebacker Bobby Wagner and defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson are among five Seahawks listed as questionable.

Bradley McDougald will start in place of Thomas, who injured his hamstring in Seattle’s 41-38 win over the Texans last week. Sunday will mark McDougald’s first start for the Seahawks after signing with the team during the offseason.

O’Neil: The time is now for the Seahawks to turn it up

Questionable for the Seahawks is linebacker Bobby Wagner (hamstring), cornerback Jeremy Lane (thigh), wide receiver Tanner McEvoy (hamstring), defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson (oblique), and running back C.J. Prosise (ankle). Kam Chancellor was also listed as questionable Friday with an ankle injury, but Carroll said the veteran safety is “OK.” Lane has a thigh contusion and will likely be out.

Wagner and Richardson are both closer to being game-time decisions. Of the two, Wagner’s status sounded more optimistic; he was a full participant in practice Friday and Carroll said the team is waiting to see how he responds to the work. Richardson’s status is more uncertain.

“Sheldon, we’ve got to wait until game day, make sure he’s OK,” Carroll said of Richardson, who suffered an oblique injury in practice this week.

Also a game-time decision is Prosise, who hasn’t seen extended playing time since suffering an ankle injury in Week 3. Carroll offered encouraging news about his status Friday.

“He looked really good today. We really checked him out today, we’re going to see how he feels tomorrow and all the way up to gameday as well. But he looked to be at full speed. So we need to see if he can recover from it and be OK, and then make a call. With a game coming up on Thursday, we’ve just got to make sure we’re right on this one.”
