PEORIA Ariz. – The 2014 Mariners commercials are out and feature Felix Hernandez, Hisashi Iwakuma, Charlie Furbush, Mike Zunino, Robinson Cano, Lloyd McClendon, Brad Miller and Kyle Seager.

The commercials can be seen at Mariners.com.

There are just four commercials featuring players this year: “Crowned”, “Slo Mo and Music”, “Old School” and “Quiet Surprise”. All were shot here in Peoria in the first week of full-squad workouts. There is a final commercial that is a bit of a departure from what the Mariners and Copacino + Fujikado have done in the past as it does not have any Mariners players in it, rather it tells the story of Henry Chadwick, who invented the box score and assigned the letter “K” to designate strikeouts. I think you can see where that one is going.

So what do you think? For me, I am not surprised that Felix can rock a crown, suit of armor, and Elvis getup. Pure fun as any commercial featuring Felix should be. Iwakuma clearly had fun making his commercial as evidenced by the blooper roll. It was great to see Zunino and Furbush get air time as well. Miller almost stole the show in the Cano commercial and could have a future in acting and the Seager commercial is spot on. Pure Seager and well done.
