Wyman’s Football 101: Why Seahawks’ Richard Sherman is the best tackling CB in NFL history

Sep 13, 2017, 3:11 PM

Dave Wyman is ready to make a proclamation: Richard Sherman is the best tackling cornerback in NFL history.

That’s pretty high praise, because as a former linebacker in the league you know Wyman knows what he’s talking about.

Huard’s Chalk Talk: Seahawks’ missed opportunity on first play

Though the Seahawks lost 17-9 to the Green Bay Packers in last Sunday’s season opener, the defense was not the problem, and especially not Sherman. In the latest episode of Wyman’s Football 101, he breaks down a particularly impressive tackle by Sherman from the first quarter of that game that exemplifies why he’s deserving of such a high honor.

By the way, Wyman has invited you to share your own opinion on who is the best tackling corner of all-time. Let us know in the comments.
