Jean Segura will look to keep rolling after a three-hit performance on Saturday night as he and the Mariners go for the sweep of the Oakland A’s at 1:10 Sunday on 710 ESPN Seattle.
Segura had a homer, two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored in Saturday’s 7-6 Mariners victory, including the winning run on a wild pitch after he reached base on an error to lead off the ninth inning. It was his first multi-hit game since Aug. 16, as he struggled on Seattle’s most recent road trip, going just 7 for 50 (.140) over the 12 games. Since the Mariners returned to Safeco Field on Friday, he is 4 for 9 (.444) with three runs scored.
The Mariners open the day 3 1/2 games back of the American League’s second wild card spot, currently held by the Twins, with the Angels (1 1/2 back) and Orioles (2 1/2) in between them.
Coverage begins at noon on 710 ESPN Seattle and KIRO Radio 97.3 FM with the pregame show. Here are the full lineups.
