Jarrod Dyson has started in the leadoff spot eight times this season for the Mariners, but it’s been a while since that last happened. He’ll get a chance again, however, in Wednesday’s series finale against the Texas Rangers at 5:05 on 710 ESPN Seattle.
Dyson will hit first as the Mariners continue to use Jean Segura as the No. 2 man in the order. Dyson, who is 9 for 35 (.257) in 35 at-bats in the No. 1 spot (including two games he came off the bench), takes over there with Ben Gamel getting the day off. Guillermo Heredia will play left field and hit eighth with Gamel out.
Mariners beat Rangers 8-7 for fourth straight win
Left-hander Ariel Miranda gets the start on the mound against Texas righty Andrew Cashner.
