Mariners’ Nelson Cruz moves back into All-Star voting lead at DH

Nelson Cruz has entered the final week of All-Star Game voting as the American League leader at designated hitter.
Cruz had 8,891,784 votes as of Monday, moving him into the lead just ahead of former Mariner and current Kansas City Royals DH Kendrys Morales (8,686,879). All-Star voting ends on Thursday at 8:59 p.m.
In his first year with Seattle, Cruz has been the most productive member of the Mariners offense. He is tied for second in the AL with 19 home runs, fourth in slugging at .552, and 12th in RBIs with 46. He also has a .305 average, 10 doubles and 36 runs scored.
Morales is hitting .291 and slugging .464 with nine homers, 48 RBIs, 19 doubles and 37 runs.
Cruz is the only Mariner ranked in the top five of voting at any position. Fan voting is only open to position players.
