Right-handed pitcher Andrew Moore, one of the Mariners’ top prospects, has been selected from Triple-A by Seattle, with Christian Bergman being optioned to Tacoma. Tyler Cloyd has been designated for assignment to make room for Moore on the 40-man roster.
The 23-year-old Moore is 4-3 with a 2.72 ERA and 77 strikeouts in 14 games, 13 of which were starts, for the Rainiers this year. An Oregon native who played for college baseball power Oregon State in college, Moore won the Mariners’ Jamie Moyer Minor League Pitcher of the Year Award in 2016. His first appearance with the M’s will be his MLB debut.

Moore will join the rotation and start Thursday against Detroit, with Yovani Gallardo going to the bullpen.
Bergman, 29, is 4-4 with a 5.44 ERA in nine games (eight starts) for the M’s in 2017. He was called up from Triple-A on May 7 and has filled a spot in Seattle’s starting rotation for much of the time since.
The 30-year-old Cloyd appeared in one game for the Mariners, earning the win on June 9 by throwing a scoreless inning against the Toronto Blue Jays. He was sent back to Tacoma after the game.
We will have more on this roster move after Mariners manager Scott Servais talks to the media Wednesday afternoon.
